And here we have a wee Amicus classic! Millionaire Tom Newcliffe invites a group of people to spend the weekend at his mansion. Wherever these individuals have gone, death has followed and Newcliffe announces to his stunned guests (and his wife - who I reckon has a right to be annoyed over this sudden declaration) that one of them is a werewolf that he means to hunt down over the next couple of days. There's also a nice little gimmick for the audience watching here - Amicus have turned it into a 'Solve-It-Yourself' kind of mystery and included a 'Werewolf Break' near the end for the viewer to figure out who the werewolf is.
I do have a soft spot for Amicus and Hammer films generally but I really like this one. There werewolf break is a nice touch and when it's announced at the beginning of the film it really helps to draw you into the film and get you hooked. It's all good fun and performed by a pretty good cast - including the legendary Peter Cushing in another excellent role. It's a good fun romp and it's worth a look.
